A Break
The adventure will continue
There are more adventures in Morocco to catalog, more incredible experiences, landscapes, food and people to share with you.
I’ve been home since this past Wednesday, leaving the dream of Morocco fulfilled. I left Marrakech Tuesday afternoon with just one more step on the journey to fulfill. Flying home in pain with possible broken bones.
Tuesday morning our group was sharing our last breakfast together. In search of a glass of orange juice, I was walking down to the breakfast bar when I missed a step and fell two steps to the concrete floor below.
I knew immediately I had most likely broken a bone in my arm, possibly another in my pelvis.
Michelle wanted to send me to the hospital, but I was concerned I’d miss my flight. So I hung on at the riad until departure time and was driven to the airport.
When I checked in at British Airlines I explained the situation and was given an assistance needed designation through the entire trip. On the flight from London to Seattle I was the first on the plane!
So here’s how things stand now. I have a broken bone in my right forearm and a badly bruised pelvis. I’ll be in a sling for two weeks, then in a cast for six.
I’ve been staying with my brother and sister-in-law the last few days and am so grateful for their help and generosity. Tomorrow I’m going back home though to see if my can manage on my own.
I’ll get back to my Moroccan odyssey soon. There is so much more to share with you.

Trying to be an optimist here… at least it happened in the last hours of our trip CeCe! Xoxo
